Preparing for Your Collège Unica Interview or Portfolio Review

For programs that include an interview or informal portfolio discussion, a bit of preparation goes a long way toward feeling confident.

Bring what you have, even if it's rough

Admissions advisors aren't expecting polished professional work from applicants — a home recording, a class project, or even a playlist you've curated shows genuine interest and initiative.

Be ready to talk about your "why"

Interviewers are often more interested in your motivation and curiosity than in technical perfection at this stage — be ready to explain what draws you to the program specifically.

    Ask questions of your own

A good interview is a two-way conversation. Asking about studio access, class sizes, or career support shows genuine engagement with the decision you're making.

    Don't overthink it

This isn't a high-pressure audition. Its purpose is to make sure the program is a good fit for you as much as the other way around.
